About the role

The Commercial Analyst – Planning & Forecasting, Enterprise Services, is a key member of the ES Operations team and has the primary responsibility for preparing, validating and sharing the forward looking financial and non-financial view of the ES business and the timely and accurate reporting of KPIs.

Fundamental to this role is maintaining strong relationships with the key stakeholders in the Enterprise Services Leadership Team and to ensure their buy-in to the planning and forecasting processes.

Initially the role will require the consolidation and standardisation of various processes between areas of the business, before expanding and rolling out across wider parts of the business.

As a leader within the ES Operations team, the Commercial Analyst – Planning & Forecasting, will also be expected to play a key role in understanding, communicating, improving and executing on the strategy for ES Operations. Strong working relationships within the ES Operations team will be essential, as will similar relationships across the broader ES and Melbourne IT teams.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Bring strong business comprehension, with the ability to translate that understanding into financial models and to identify the drivers that impact performance
  • Ideally have experience working in technology and/or professional services businesses

  • Well developed relationship building and communication skills
  • Commitment to customer service and internal customer experience
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Exposure to technology and sales environments

Technical skills and competencies

  • Capability to build and maintain detailed financial models in Excel is critical to this role
  • Computer literate – broad knowledge of Microsoft office required
  • Ability to ensure consistency of process/procedures and promote efficiencies
  • Experience using collaboration tools to share data and reports
