About the role:

As our Senior Java Developer you will work alongside a team of talented developers to develop and deliver on applications to support the achievement of business outcomes. 

What YOU get to do:

  • Work as part of talented team in a fast-paced challenging Agile environment utilising the latest open-source and vendor technologies
  • Provide technical guidance, design and development of components within the Business Growth stream or Integration stream
  • Provide solutions that are towards using open standards, architectures and systems over closed, proprietary ones, and cloud continuous delivery approaches.
  • Work with other senior developers to agree on general architecture principles for integration of components into the common platform
  • Contribute to technical direction for the design and strategy for new and existing systems
  • Prepare estimates and liaise with internal customers
  • Work with project stakeholders to deliver quality and robust solutions
  • Provide design and code reviews, including documentation
  • Provide leadership towards continuous improvements through identifying critical technical debt and respond to critical issues that may arise in production
  • Contribute to execution in the Team Engagement Action Plan

About YOU:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science (or similar) or extensive relevant software engineer experience.
  • Strong/demonstrated commercial experience in Java EE, SQL and Linux OS
  • RESTful APIs using the Spring Boot/Framework
  • AWS working knowledge (Certified Professional highly desirable). AWS architecture, and development (such as Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, ElasticCache, SQS, CloudFront, Route 53, IAM, CloudFormation)
  • Microservices, Event Driven Architecture (ES/CQRS) highly desirable
  • CI/CD (Jenkins), Automation skillset highly desirable
  • Containerization (Docker, ECS)
  • Knowledge and experience with modern Javascript frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue
