Your role:

The role of  Senior Systems Engineer is in the Linux Team within our Technology Solution Services Department.  

The Senior Systems Engineer will provide support to users on Linux systems/platform located on-prem, AWS or Azure to internal users and external enterprise customer’s using an ITIL based service management approach.

We are looking someone who is eager to learn and work on new and exciting technologies!

What YOU get to do:

  • Enabling customer success through delivering Linux capability and services internally to Melbourne IT and Enterprise Customers
  • Delivery of day to day Platform and User Support. Solving complex challenges.
  • Automating and using code to improve the delivery of Linux services and user support. (We think repeating the same work is boring)
  • Researching and championing new technology frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Leader, Linux Services in delivery of Projects & Improvements
  • Collaborate with the Leader, Linux Services to deliver Platform Management, Roadmaps & Architecture

What YOU will have:

  • At Least 2 years providing Technical Leadership in the Linux Space
  • At least 4 years' exposure to Linux Server or derivative distributions.
  • At least 4 years' experience designing, managing & operating Linux Platforms.
  • At least 3 years' experience with automation of Linux platforms and OS/Middleware services
  • At least 3 years' exposure to cloud environments (AWS/Azure)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Coding experience in Bash, Python or PHP.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities in an environment of continuous change and complexity
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and be challenged
